On a magical midsummer’s morning; perfectly still and clear with the fresh scent of flowers and foliage in the air, quiet but for birdsong, gossamer traces of dew on fennels and alliums and with the warmth of the early morning sun on my face, it was truly entrancing to be in the High Garden at Great Dixter.
