I created Sussex Stills’ greeting cards, as I wanted to share the wonders and beauty I see all around – flowers, plants and stunning gardens, flora and fauna in their native habitat, landscapes and rural life, ephemeral moments of shifting light – all in a form that brings a smile and a little bit of joy.

About Nicky
At university I studied Rural Environment Studies after which I worked as a gardener and designer, all the while taking photos; developing my eye, my craft and my love for photography.
Moving to digital enabled me to pursue this hobby, to really practice and learn, and allowed me to provide images for my husband’s lectures – a professional gardener who teaches.
As my photography improved I felt driven to do more with the images and to share them further afield… so Sussex Stills was born.
From small beginnings I’m proud to offer a large range of cards celebrating gardens, plants and the rural landscape which are stocked in many shops, as well as being available here on-line.
In 2018 I was awarded first place in the category ‘Beautiful Gardens’ in the International Garden Photographer of the Year and had a highly commended in this year’s competition.
I’m a full member of the Garden Media Guild and the Professional Garden Photographers’ Association. Based in East Sussex I’m available for commissioned work from magazines, books, newspapers, garden designers and garden owners to produce images for publishing, websites, prints or photographic books. I’ve continued to develop my craft and hone my skills as there is always something new to learn, but mainly I take photos because I love photography; it’s my happy place.
